Bingin Beach is an absolute treasure, nestled on the beautiful island of BALI, Indonesia.
This beautiful beach is located on the southwestern coast of the Bukit Peninsula. This area is known for its amazing and high limestone cliffs, followed by beautiful beaches and a couple of the best surf spots IN THE WORLD.
The beach itself is a small, secluded cove surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic cliffs, creating a sense of privacy and tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere.
But there’s more to Bingin Beach than just surfing! Take a leisurely stroll along the shore, indulge in some mouthwatering local cuisine at one of the many beachfront warungs (small, family-owned restaurants), or simply kick back with a good book as you soak up the sun and breathe in the salty ocean air.
Transport
Step 1: Fly into Denpasar International Airport (DPS)
Your gateway to Bali is the Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport, which welcomes flights from various parts of the world. Use the widget below to see whatever flight would be cheapest from your place!
Step 2: Arrange Transportation to Bingin Beach
From the airport, Bingin Beach is approximately 17 kilometers (around 10.5 miles) away and can be reached in about 30-45 minutes. There are several transportation options available to get you to your destination:
- Private Taxi or Car Service: For a comfortable and stress-free ride, consider booking a private taxi or car service. You can either pre-book one online or find one at the airport’s taxi counter. Remember to agree on the fare before starting your journey to avoid any confusion.
- Ride-Sharing Apps: Platforms like Grab and Gojek are popular in Bali (and by extension in Asia) and can be a more affordable alternative to traditional taxis. Simply download the app and request a ride to Bingin Beach. You’ll be amazed by how cheap they can be!
- Rent a Scooter or Car: If you’re feeling adventurous and want to explore Bali at your own pace, consider renting a scooter or car. There are many rental services available, both at the airport and across the island. Make sure to have a valid international driver’s license and always exercise caution while driving.
Step 3: Enjoy the Scenic Route
As you’re making your way to Bingin Beach, don’t forget to enjoy the sightseeing. you’re in Bali after all. You’ll see amazing nature landscapes, you’ll pass small villages with amazing vibes. The route towards Bingin Beach already gives you a small insight into the island life.
Step 4: Arrival at Bingin Beach
When you are close to the beach, you can park your car at the top of the cliffs. There are multiple PARKING areas available, such as Bingin Public Parking & Susie’s Bike Parking. Even though Bingin Beach is a public beach and has FREE ACCESS, there is a PARKING FEE for your car/scooter.
We paid 5,000 rp for a scooter. If you have a car, you pay 10,000 rp.
YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE BEACH BY CAR/SCOOTER.
From the parking, you’ll have to go on foot to reach the beach. You’ll have to descend quite some stairs. It takes around 5 minutes to reach the beach.
Now, it’s time to ENJOY.
Best time to visit Bingin Beach?
We always have difficulty finding the right time to visit a beach. That’s why we’ve collected information on the wet and dry seasons so you can pick the time you like best! For us, it’s definitely the dry season.
Dry Season: April to September
Bali’s dry season runs from April to September, and it’s the best time to visit Bingin Beach.
During these months, you can expect SUNNY skies, WARM temperatures, and lower humidity levels, making it ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and exploring the island’s many attractions. The dry season also brings consistent swells, which means it’s perfect for surfers looking to catch some EPIC WAVES.
INSIDER TIP: Our favorite time to visit Bingin Beach is during the early part of the dry season, around May or June. The weather is just right, and the crowds haven’t reached their peak yet, giving us the opportunity to truly unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings.
Wet Season: October to March
While the wet season in Bali spans from October to March, don’t let that deter you from visiting Bingin Beach!
Although you might encounter occasional RAIN showers, they’re typically short-lived and followed by bright, sunny skies. In fact, the LUSH greenery and dramatic landscapes are even more vibrant during this time, creating a captivating backdrop for your tropical escape.
However, if you’re an avid surfer, be aware that the waves might NOT be as consistent during the wet season. But fear not, there are still plenty of activities to keep you entertained, such as yoga classes, cultural excursions, and indulging in mouthwatering local cuisine.

One of the things we love most about Bingin Beach is the opportunity to eat local but amazing dishes at the many beachfront warungs (small local shops). You can eat every curry you can imagine, or go for some seafood, they have it all!

Bingin Beach is a public beach and open to everyone, so there are not many amenities available. It’s best to use the toilets from the many restaurants close to the beach.
