Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY): Situated about 120 km (74 miles) away, Milan Bergamo Airport is another convenient option. The drive to Limone sul Garda takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes, offering a scenic route. For a comfortable and hassle-free transfer, a taxi or private transfer can be arranged at an estimated cost of €150-€200, ensuring a pleasant and convenient experience.

Trains: There is no direct train service to Limone sul Garda. However, you can take a train to the nearby town of Desenzano del Garda-Sirmione, which is well-connected to major Italian cities like Milan, Verona, and Venice. Train fares range from €10 to €30, depending on the class and booking time. From Desenzano del Garda-Sirmione, you can catch a local bus (approximately €4-€6) or a ferry (approximately €10-€20) to Limone sul Garda. The combined travel time is around 2-3 hours.

Climate and Best Time to Visit

Based on our personal experience of traveling to Limone sul Garda, the town enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, making it a year-round destination. However, the best time to visit largely depends on your activities of interest.


If you’re a water sports enthusiast like us, the summer months from June to August, when the lake’s water is warm and inviting, would be ideal. The town basks in abundant sunshine and the average temperature hovers around 25°C (77°F) during this period.


During spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are particularly beautiful for exploring the picturesque town and its surrounding mountains. Temperatures during these seasons range from 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F), offering pleasant weather for hiking and sightseeing.


Moreover, the town is less crowded, providing a more serene experience.


We would advise packing some light rainwear, as sporadic rain showers can occur throughout the year.
